Like I said on my first post, I am a HUGE Nancy Drew fan. I am going to share how I bacame such a big fan.
In 2003, when I was 7 years old, I remember I fell asleep watching tv on my parents bed. When I woke up, my mom told me that she had gotten me something. I was pretty excited, I mean, I really didn't care what it was, It was just cool to get something. I was expecting clothes, or a candy bar, or something pretty normal.
What she gave me was NOT normal. In fact, I wasn't sure if this was for real or not.
She handed me a couputer game. On the front of the box, there were 4 dogs with bright yellow eyes. And it said, "Nancy Drew: The Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake."
First of all, I was only 7, and had never heard of Nancy Drew before. Second of all, I was only 7, and my mother made sure that I was protected from bad things.
Third of all, I was only 7, and I was supried that my mom was giving me a game which involved ghosts.
So, I asked her, "What the heck is this?" (Well, maybe not excatly like that)
And she said, "When I was your age, I read these Nancy Drew book, and I think that you will enjoy them. I saw this game at the store, and I thought of you."
"Okay..." Was all I could really say.
That night, we downloaded the game on our computer, and my mom stayed with me while we stated. I remember we did the Gameplay Overview, so we could know what we were doing. Then, we started.
It started out pretty well. I mean, It was a little strange, but I was having fun. And my mom was right there with me, so I knew that I would be safe-until the Ghost dogs came.
I got FREAKED OUT!! I mean, playing it now, I am like "Thats the best you can do?" But then, It was too much for me. :)
Well, finally, (3 months later) I got brave enough to play it alone. But I would never play at night, and I would never make it night in the game. The Day time was good enough for me. :)
I was having fun with it, until about 2 weeks later when I got so fed up with the game. I got lost in the woods, and I could not for the life of me find my way out.
About 6 months later, something happened, and the game broke. :( About 2 years later though, I got it again, this time, when I took the game out of the box, it was already broken, finally, I got it, and now it works fine. :)
Anyway, back to my story. The day after I played Nancy Drew for the first time, mom took me to the library, and I got "Secret of Shadown Ranch" The book. I read like, the first 2 chapter, but It was not as fun as the game, so I quit reading it. (I actually didn't finish the Shadow Ranch book, until 2007. :) So...that is how I came to like Nancy Drew! It is a pretty long story, but that is my Nancy Drew story!
